Supplies - Solder
All of the solder we sell for stained glass use is pure, solid-core (no resin or acid core).
The solder is 1/8th"
wire wrapped on 1 lb. spools for easy handling. We sell 60/40 in 5 lb.
spools as well.
50/50 Solder - 50% TIN / 50% LEAD
General purpose solder. Ideal for working on leaded windows and filling wide angle
seams between lamp panels.
60/40 Solder - 60% TIN / 40% LEAD
This is the most popular alloy. It solidifies slower than 50/50 and has a shinier surface
upon cooling.
It is easier to run a smooth seam with this mix.
63/37 Solder - 63% TIN / 37% LEAD
This has been described as the perfect alloy for runing a smooth bead. Great for all foil
work and decorative soldering.
Lead Free Solder - TIN / COPPER / SILVER
Ideal for all applications where lead is a health concern; jewelry, glass hung in children's
rooms and any project that may be around food preparation.
