CARLETON MEMORIAL UNITED CHURCH, Ottawa
These are two of eight symbol windows installed at Carleton Memorial. The anchor
is a symbol of Hope and reflects the idea that Faith is the anchor of christian belief.
The Dove with an olive branch is a universal symbol of Peace.
GLEN CAIRN UNITED CHURCH , Kanata, Ontario
This round window above the altar features the symbols from the United Church
crest. Each one reflects the churches that amalgamated to form the United Church
of Canada; Dove-Methodist, Burning Bush-Presbyterian and Bible-Congregational.
The combined Alpha and Omega represents the eternal nature of God.
