Restoration
This elegant mansion at 252 Metcalfe Street in Ottawa was once the home of lumber
baron, J. R. Booth. For many years it was the members-only Laurentian Club. In 2002
the house was extensively renovated to become the
Ottawa campus of Trinity College.

Northern Art Glass rehabilitated stained glass and beveled glass on two floors of the
mansion. This set of beautiful beveled windows is on the landing of the grand staircase.
An intriguing circular window located in the formal dining room. The leaded glass detail
is very intricate and includes glass "jewels" inset into the pattern. Note the
white rows
at top and bottom and the green ribbon through the center. The window was fragile
and badly bowed requiring very careful handling throughout the restoration process.
