Restoration
Christ Church Cathedral, Ottawa
Northern Art Glass Inc. has carried out a number of restoration projects, as well as, fabricating new glass windows for Christ Church Cathedral. In 1995, we commenced with the rehabilitation of
the windows at the clerestory level. The following year, we restored windows in the tower stairwells and on both sides of the altar. We fabricated and installed new leaded windows in the bell tower and for the new columbarium. In the summer of 1999 we removed and restored the three central windows at the altar.

This torso of Christ is from a depiction of his Baptism by John the Baptist above the altar at Christ Church Cathedral in Ottawa, Ontario. The original piece (ca. 1890) was shattered by a contractor working on the building. The replacement was painted from photographs and from the original glasswork, carefully reconstructed from the many pieces found on the floor below. The window
was originally donated to Christ Church by Nicholas Sparks, a prominent citizen of the city.
