All courses are pre-registered and the course fee must be paid in full at that time to be ensured of a spot in the class. If you cannot attend a course for whatever reason we will endeavor to move you to the next available date. There are no transfers or refunds of course fees for cancellations with less than one weeks' notice. The safe handling of all materials are emphasized in class, however, we do recommend that pregnant women in the first trimester do not take any course due to possible hazards from fumes and chemicals used. |

| BEGINNER COURSE |

Join us in our studio and learn the Copper Foil Method of stained glass construction. It's easy ! Our experienced instructors will teach you how to handle glass safely and to assemble your projects with confidence. Our facilities and equipment are at your disposal during class. All materials are provided for your two class projects, however, students are responsible for their own glasscutters. A variety of glasscutters ($6.00 to $52.95 in price) will be provided and demonstrated the first night so that you can select the one that is right for you.
PROJECTS: A suncatcher and small window panel and more if time allows.
TIMES: One evening per week for six weeks from 7:00 to 9:30 PM
OR one full weekend - Saturday and Sunday from 9:30 to 3:30 PM

| INTERMEDIATE COURSE |

This six week course allows you to develop additional skills beyond the introductory level while working on a project of your choice. The instructor will assist and direct the class so that you will benefit from the advice given to others with their projects, including specialized tools and techniques for each job. Lamps on forms or flat panel construction are popular choices for this course, although you may work on any copperfoil project of your choice. Students provide their own materials and glass cutting tools. You are expected to select a project in advance and come prepared the first night. Depending on the complexity of the project you may not necessarily complete it in the time allotted. It is especially important to pre-order lamp patterns, forms, and specific glass at least two weeks in advance.

| LEAD CAME COURSE |

Our very popular one day course is available to those who have experience in glass cutting and working with foil and wish to learn the Lead Came Method. Complete a leaded window using bevels and cathedral glass of your choice. Students must bring their glass working tools and a lunch but all other tools, patterns and basic materials are supplied. It is possible to upgrade your project with additional bevels and/or etched bevel centers for an added cost.
PROJECT: A 12" X 16" leaded panel

| KILNWORKS - I |

Learn the basics of fusing and slumping glass in the kiln. Students do not need to know how to cut glass. There are a variety of hands-on projects to help you develop an understanding of the properties of glass and what happens during the heating process. The main project is a decorated and fused bowl or plate. Materials are included for a couple of other projects as time allows.

| KILNWORKS - II |

Students will continue to explore advanced fusing and slumping glass techniques. Course topics may include; slumping, combing, painting, frit casting, molds, stripes, stacks, tiles, pattern bars, fiberboard forms, drop outs, pot melts, vitregraph and other manipulation of the warm glass in the kiln. Students will design and prepare projects for firing the following week. You may choose to do one main project or several. The Kilnworks I course or some previous fusing experience is a prerequisite.

| BEADMAKING |

This one day course will introduce students to the art of flame working used to create decorative glass beads. You will start with a discussion of safe work habits and and introduction to the use of tools and equipment. Learn how to heat and apply the hot glass to the mandrel and to perform a variety of bead forming techniques. Students will develop a good understanding of the basic procedures. The class is limited to 6 students. All tools and materials are provided for several beads as time allows.

This course, offered over six evenings, will explore more forming and decorative techniques as students continue to expand their glass bead horizons. Learn how to shape your beads into rounds, cubes, barrels, cones etc. and the proper tools for the job. Decorate with dots and stringers in different patterns. Finished beads can be displayed as jewelry; bracelets, necklaces, charms and many other ideas. The class is limited to 6 students. Tools and materials are provided for a number of finished beads. Some project materials are extra.

| MOSAICS |

Design and make a fabulous mosaic projects on glass or wood using coloured and textured glass pieces and glass nuggets. Choose from bins of pre-cut glass pieces and/or cut them to size with easy-to-use mosaic knippers. The course will be held over four evenings to allow you time to work on more than one project. Finish up with ceramic grout for an authentic mosaic look. There are some classroom supplies included but most of your materials are extra.

| PAINTING ON GLASS |

This is the traditional method of glass painting, fired in the kiln for a permanent effect that will endure for a century or more. Learn the basic techniques of tracing, matting and removal methods to create painted details and shading on the glass. No previous glass experience is required. All materials, paints and brushes are provided.

Tips and techniques from the pros to design and layout a full-size pattern for a stained glass project. Installation methods, accurate measurements, edging materials, structural support, creating and transfering a design, working with bevels and more will be discussed. Got questions? Fire away.
